DAY 9 (AFTERNOON) ALFENDI & ELIZABETH

[He's worried.]

[He's mad too, of course. He's always mad. In a place like this, with a morbid game so frustratingly arranged against him and the others, it's hard not to be.]

[But now, after that strange conversation with the dead, he's worried. "Sleeping with the enemy"? And Dojima, suddenly leaving him a note asking about Bigby Wolf, and whether he's innocent or not? He hadn't considered it. He had trusted everyone in his apartment, assumed that they were all allies, they were on his side...]

[But were they, really?]

[He briskly walks through the Complex, finally catching sight of who he's been looking for - he walks up and stops her in her stride by stepping in front of her, his expression twisted in a frown.]

Elizabeth. [He says, his voice low.] I...I need to talk to you

[He doesn't allow her much time to reply, since he lets out a sigh and speaks up again:]

I'm worried that Bigby Wolf might be staff.

DAY 7 (DAY) - ALFENDI & GUY

[It isn't a good day for Alfendi. Then again, in this place, it's never a good day. At least it's peaceful and devoid of real life body parts (glass eye not counting, of course), but still, what with still being sick from the fountain water, and being stuck in a personality ever so ready to fight the world, things aren't going as well as Alfendi would've liked.]

[He's just sitting here in the cafeteria after a recent bout of vomiting, too sick to even consider even eating - currently he's just writing up a storm in his notebook, grumbling as he's jotting down lines of code. When he sees Guy enter he glowers at him through his mess of hair:]

What do you want? If you don't have anything to say, get lost.

DAY 6 (POST TRIAL) ALFENDI & ELIZABETH

["Trust her".]

[That's what his notebook says. That's what he says. Or another him. It's still strange, that not only has he been awake for this long without blacking out, but now he's learned there's another self that writes him notes and ever so nicely informs him what's going on.]

[And apparently, his other side has nothing but good things to say about Elizabeth. He doesn't get it, but...fine, alright. He'll trust her. He has things to share, and to have someone to share them with is a boon.]

[He'll approach her some time before the party, his notebook tucked under his arm. It's always a good time for first meetings.]

So, you're the woman to go to when a man wants to share his thoughts on some murders, are you?

DAY 6 (POST TRIAL) ALFENDI & SHIJIMA & BIGBY & ELIZABETH & ALICE

[Well, what a trial. Back and forth accusations between several people, a search for wounds, inquiries galore, the discovery that Bigby has weird kinks, Adam's sudden confession...it was one giant rollercoaster, but somehow, they've all made it. Somehow, this apartment is still ticking away with its strange inhabitants, now plus one in the form of Elizabeth.]

[Alfendi seems pleased by the whole affair- outwardly, at least. Once they've all gathered, he pulls out Bigby's whiskey bottle from last time, offering it to his fellow roommates (and Liz) with a devilish smile. It looks like his nicer side still isn't ready to come out - and honestly, he still looks sickly, but he's in a good mood.]

[He lets out a laugh.]

Well, I'm pretty sure I'm going to die. I don't suppose anyone is going to help me write my last will and testament?

[Another laugh as he sits on the edge of the couch, smiling wide,]

Anyways, never mind that, we're not out of the woods yet. We may have caught the guilty party, but there are still a few rats running around. What are everyone's thoughts on the matter? [A beat, as he glances to their newest occupant.] Also, before I forget, I just wanted to give a warm welcome to Elizabeth. You definitely came to the right place.

DAY 4 (POST TRIAL) ALFENDI & ELIZABETH

[He honestly doesn't really know what to say.]

[Alfendi has never been a sentimental person. He smiles, he's polite, he knows how to follow proper manners like any good gentleman, but as far as expressing emotions goes? Well, that has rather always been his Achilles heel. Sometimes, he's not even sure if he feels anything at all, so how is he even supposed to show sympathy if the well has mostly gone dry, so to speak?]

[So, when he approaches Elizabeth not too long after the execution has gone down, he struggles with what words he should use. He can't tell her she did a good job bringing down a staff member, since that smacks of being emotionless, considering Lara had to get in the crossfires of the whole terrible thing. He can't just change the topic and focus on the task ahead - she's in a vulnerable state right now, and doing that seems callous. He wants to try as best as he can to say the right thing, because despite himself, he trusts her, he respects her, and to metaphorically smack her across the face with words would be an insult, indeed.]

[But despite his self-doubts, he's here - he notices her walking out of the trial room and approaches her, his tone level:]

Elizabeth. [He says, with a nod.] I'm...sorry you had to go through that. I can't imagine how it felt.

DAY 3 (DAYTIME) ALFENDI & ELIZABETH

There we go.

[They're now out of earshot from anyone who might possibly listen in to their conversation. Alfendi smiles at Elizabeth, burying his hands into the long pockets of his white coat.]

It's actually incredibly simple. You want to find out if someone has left a room in the middle of the night, yes? What you do is that you take something, like a piece of hair or a needle, something thin and small, and you lodge it into the hinges or the space around a door. If the person leaves the room, the hair or needle, of course, falls down due to the movement, but it's so small that the person, hopefully, won't notice it.

[A simple tactic, but incredibly effective.]

That way, you can check later to see if the thing has been moved, and if it is, it's quite the nice clue to tell you that someone in that room has exited it during the night. We could do something similar to that, if we want to be especially sneaky here.

day 2 (evening, post trial) Alfendi & Bigby

[Later, as everyone returns from the event of that horrific trial and execution back to their rooms, Alfendi returns to his room. The rest aren't back yet, so he has a chance to think over what happened. It feels like a fever dream - this is not how justice works. This is never how it should've worked. He believes in the system, he believes in laws, and yet they've failed him here. An attempt to abstain resulted in a death. He isn't even upset about the death as much as he is upset about things not working as they should, and now they are nowhere near finding the truth behind the whole matter. They're back at square one, and frankly? It's infuriating.]

[He hears Bigby come in and he turns around, rubbing slightly at his weary, exhausted eyes.]

Bigby, hello. [A pause. He considers it for a moment, before speaking up - perhaps it's best to talk over this with someone.]....This might be a hard thing to talk about now, but...do you think it was inevitable that Diva got executed? Could we have done more to prevent that?
